qualified and experienced consultant to conduct a consultancy assignment for its USAID Advancing Partners &
Communities (APC) Project
Overview on the consultancy
The consultant will work closely with the APC/Tanzania team and the APC team based in the US, to provide leadership,
direction and technical assistance to the APC Tanzania portfolio with a focus on supporting the implementation of National
Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan (NFPCIP) 2018-2023 to achieve the following responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
• Provide technical leadership to the project team to ensure high quality implementation of activities, adherence to and
fulfillment of programmatic activities within budgetary guidelines and compliance with project award requirements.
• Collaborate closely with key government officials in the MoHCDGEC, PO-RALG and partners, to implement activities
within the portfolio.
• Support the APC team to plan and execute a technical meeting with RCHS Staff, PORALG and FP implementing partners
to orient on NFPCIP 2018-2023. This will include preparation of the meeting agenda, coordinating speakers and invitees,
and providing technical input to the meeting program.
• Support RCHS, PORALG, and implementing partners to conduct zonal orientation meetings. This could include:
preparing zone-specific orientation packets, providing talking points, supporting logistics and management of meetings
remotely or in-person, synthesizing recommendations and providing TA after the meetings to council-level stakeholders
as needed to adapt the NFPCIP 2019-2023 into CCHPS and other council-level planning and budget documents.
• Support revision of the current CIP database to include NFPCIP 2019-2023 indicators. This could include: holding
meetings with RCHS and implementing partners to determine database requirements, developing solicitation/RFP for
technology companies, reviewing proposals, and monitoring winning candidate as they implement revisions.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:
• A Master’s degree or higher in relevant field is required.
• At least 10 years of related work experience required, including project management role(s) of projects with similar
scope, size, and complexity.
• Direct experience with family planning programs is required.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills (including in English) are required.
