DUTY STATION: Based either Dar/Coast Regions, Dodoma or Lake zone

EngenderHealth Tanzania is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for the Zonal Coordinator/Team Leader Position of an anticipated DFID funded programme – Scaling Up Family Planning in Tanzania. This 5-year programme aims to scale up access to FP in rural and urban areas, enabling women to safely plan their pregnancies and improve their sexual and reproductive health and rights. The programme will integrate a comprehensive range of services including care for victims of sexual violence and post abortion care and will seek innovative ways to reach people with disabilities, refugees and young people with family planning (FP) services.
Position Descriptions:
Reporting to the to the Senior Program Manager, the Zonal Coordinator/Team Leader technically assist in the planning, organization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the overall program activities in the field office.
The Zonal Coordinator oversees the implementation of comprehensive, integrated approaches to strengthen and expand Family Planning, HIV, Comprehensive Post Abortion Care health service and Gender Based Violence intervention through development of project activities and provision of technical assistance in quality and performance improvement, policy and advocacy, community empowerment and participation, service delivery, and the management and use of data for continual improvement, decision-making, and identification of best practices and lessons learned.
Key Qualifications:
Assistant Medical Officer or Medical degree with relevant public health and management expertise.
Technical knowledge in FP/RH, GBV, and HIV/AIDS
At least four years experience at a managerial position with budget and supervisory responsibilities in a donor funded project.
Qualification and/or experience in training interventions.
Experience working with People living with disability will be an added advantage
Proven capacity to direct, develop, manage and inspire a multidisciplinary and professional team in the field office.
Demonstrated experience working collegially with other technical staff, experts and staff from the private, public and NGO sector.
Intimate knowledge, understanding and experience of the Ministry of Health and PORALG structures and health systems in Tanzania.
Demonstrated experience in working and collaborating with DFID and other donor funded organizations will be an added advantage.
Ability to prioritize amongst competing demands and working with minimal supervision and organizing in a strict deadline environment.

Ability to drive results with limited supervision
