Augustine University of Tanzania, and as such it is governed by the Board of Trustees of Catholic Universities of Tanzania and the University Council under the Catholic Bishops of Tanzania (Tanzania Episcopal Conference – TEC). AMUCTA is seeking to employ competent, experienced, honest, hardworking, qualified and committed individuals to fill the under- mentioned post

1. LECTURERS/ SENIOR LECTURERS

1.1 EDUCATION (3 Posts)

Qualification and Experience:

PhD degree in Educational Psychology, Curriculum Development, Educational Management and Leadership or any related field of Education from recognized universities with 3 to 5 years working experience in teaching, research and consultancy. Master degree (GPA 4.0 or above), Bachelor degree (GPA 3.5 or above)

1.2 BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (3 Posts)

Qualification and Experience:

PhD in Business Administration, Accounts and Finance or any related Business field, Master degree in the same field (GPA 4.0 or above), Bachelor degree (GPA 3.5 or above) with 3 to 5 years working experience in teaching, researching and consultancy.

Main Duties for Lecturers/ Senior Lecturers

i. Prepare training manuals and related training materials

ii. Design course programmes within one’s area of specialization and competence and present them to the department, faculty and academic committee for approval

iii. Scan the references of each course that one teaches each year and upgrade the content and references to make it most up to date

iv. Conduct research, seminars and case studies

v. Carries out consultancy and community services under close supervision

vi. Set examinations that cover the whole course content and that are able to test not only mastery but also the application of such knowledge in real life situation

vii. Supervise students’ research, field projects and all the assignments offered.

viii. Performs any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.

2. ASSISTANT LECTURERS

2.1 EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (1 Post)

Qualification and Experience:

Master degree in Educational Psychology, Guidance/Counselling (GPA 4.0 or above) or any related field, Bachelor degree (GPA 3.5 or above) from recognized universities, with the working experience of 3 years in teaching, researching and consultancy.

2.2 SPECIAL NEEDS (1 Post)

Qualification and Experience:

Master degree in Special Needs (Hearing/Visual Impairment) from recognized universities (GPA 4.0 or above) or any related field, Bachelor degree (GPA 3.5 or above) from the same field, with the working experience of at least 3 years in the field of teaching.

2.3 CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT (1 Post)

Qualification and Experience:

Master degree in Educational specialising in Curriculum Development or any related field from reputable universities (GPA 4.0 or above), Bachelor degree (GPA 3.5 or above) with the working experience of 3 years in the field of teaching.

2.4 KISWAHILI (ISIMU) (2 Posts)

Qualification and Experience:

Master degree in Kiswahili specialising in Linguistics (Isimu) (GPA 4.0 or above) or any related field, Bachelor degree of the same field from recognized universities with (GPA 3.5 or above) with at least 3 years working experience in teaching field.

2.5 KISWAHILI (FASIHI ) (2 Posts)

Qualification and Experience:

Master degree in Kiswahili specialising in Literature (Fasihi) with (GPA 4.0 or above) or any related field, Bachelor degree of the same field, (GPA 3.5 or above) with at least 3 years working experience in the teaching field.

2.6 LAW (1 Post)

Qualification and Experience:

Master degree in Laws (LL.M with GPA of 4.0 or above), Bachelor degree in Law GPA 3.5 or above) with at least 3 years working experience. Being registered as an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania with active practicing Licence will be an added advantage.

2.7 PUBLIC RELATIONS (4 Posts)

Qualification and Experience:

Master degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Mass Communication and Journalism (GPA 4.0 or above) or any related field, Bachelor degree (GPA 3.5 or above) from the same field with at least 3 years working experience.

Main Duties for Assistant Lecturers

i. Prepare training manuals and related training materials

ii. Design course programmes within one’s area of specialization and competence and present them to the department, faculty and academic committee for approval

iv. Conduct research, seminars and case studies

v. Carries out consultancy and community services under close supervision
