Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in
Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered organisation first
established in 1994. It is the largest indigenous
provider of ophthalmic and rehabilitation services in the
country. CCBRT aims to be the leading provider of
accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves
as healthcare social enterprise and through
development programmes the community and the most
vulnerable. Committed to preventing lifelong
disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in
extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC)
activities including obstetric fistula repairs and is
currently constructing a Maternity and Newborn
Hospital.
In line with further expansion of support services,
CCBRT is looking for dynamic and energetic
Biomedical Technician
The role
Assist in installation of new biomedical equipment,
Inspect and approve new biomedical equipment tours of
all departments, Conduct periodic calibration and
tests, responsible for preventive maintenance planning,
Maintain biomedical equipment according to
preventive maintenance plan by following manufacturer’s
instructions, prepare work plans for repairs.
Conduct repair of malfunctions and troubleshooting,
generate job cards, Gerenate machine cards as
requested, Prepare biomedical reports, maintain and
update equipment inventory, Maintain all maintenance
and repair records, manage biomedical equipement
supplies by checking stock levels, Place and expedit
orders for equipment spare parts and verify receipt,
maintain safe and healthly work environment by
conducting safety tests, ensure that safety
regulations and standards are adhered to all the timesComply
with best practice procedure.
Update job knowledge by participating in available
and pertinent biomedical training and technical
publications, conduct training for medical and
healthcare personnel in use and care of equipment and
provide information, Improve biomedical equipment
performance by conferring with users, conduct
biomedical equipment operations demonstrations,
responsible for good order of workshop and responsible
for maintenance of all workshop equipment.
The candidate
Diploma in Biomedical Engineering with at least 3
years experience in biomedical equipment
repair and maintenance or FTC trained technician (
electrical/ electronic) with additional one year
certificate course in Biomedical engineering and at
least 9 years of experience in biomedical
equipment repair and maintancance.
Computer literate
Good communication skills in English and Swahili
Excellent interpersonal skills
Self motivated and able to work with minimum
supervision
Problem solving skills
Basic understanding knowledge of computer
networking
A strong interest in the intergration of
engineering and medicine
