Mainsprings: The Janada L. Batchelor Foundation for Children (formerly known as
JBFC) is a non-profit/NGO based in the Mwanza Region of Tanzania. We work to
alleviate extreme rural poverty through refuge, education, agriculture and
healthcare. We provide refuge to over 40 girls who have been living in poverty,
abandoned or abused. We provide an affordable English Medium Education to
nearly 400 students at our Joseph and Mary Primary and Secondary Schools. We
have a farm that employs many from our neighboring village and feeds our staff,
students and residential girls daily. We also seek to provide healthcare and
healthcare education to our staff, students and neighboring village. We
currently employ over 70 East African citizens which we expect to grow as we
open our new campus in a separate rural location, also in the Mwanza Region. We
maintain a restaurant and lodge on our primary campus and are in the process of
opening a VETA program to provide further education in the hotel and food
management industry. About
the role:We are
currently hiring for a Campus Clinical Officer. This position will be full time
and will be responsible for all healthcare related activities on our Kitongo
campus. The Campus Medical Officer will also help develop and register the
Kitongo campus’s Healthcare Clinic. Your
responsibilities will include:Healthcare
ServicesYou will
be responsible for the provision of all healthcare services for our residential
girls, our Joseph and Mary students, and our Kitongo staffYou will
help determine which services, tests, and treatment to provide in accordance
with Tanzanian law and best practicesYou will
be responsible for making sure that our healthcare clinic is fully supplied by
creating a weekly shopping list of supplies for the Campus DirectorYou will
track all healthcare related data as requested by the Monitoring and Evaluation
Officer and help implement and update data collection systemsYou will
provide preventive, first-aid, testing, treatment, and emergency services to
our Kitongo campus community and to our surrounding community as the clinic
developsYou will
lead our school and community health education programs in accordance with our
monthly health themesYou will
organize our world Malaria, AIDS, Mental Health, etc. days’ celebrationsYou will
respond to emergency situations as neededYou will
supervise the campus nurse and any visiting healthcare providers DevelopmentYou will
work with the Mainsprings JBFC leadership team to develop an overall healthcare
strategy for our Kitongo campusYou will
be the primary person responsible for registering our healthcare program as a
Dispensary, making sure all of our practices are done in accordance with the
law, and ensuring that all necessary licenses are up to dateYou will
foster and maintain healthy relationships with the healthcare providers and
authorities in our community, including the DMO and the local dispensaryYou will
utilize data from the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to continuously
evaluate our services and improve them based on available data Role

at least 3 years working experience in the healthcare settingYou are
a competent medical professional capable of providing the highest level of care
to our staff, students, and residential girlsYou have
excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and SwahiliYou have
excellent Microsoft Office skillsYou pay
strong attention to detail and have the ability to proactively anticipate needsYou are
able to handle pressure effectively and manage multiple tasks while keeping an
