Job Vacancies for the PrEPVacc study

Development of an HIV Negative Registration Cohort for Future Participation in an HIV Vaccine (Known as PrEPVacc) Study is seeking to hire staff to work with the project. Development of an HIV Negative Registration Cohort for Future Participation in an HIV
Vaccine (Known as PrEPVacc) Study is seeking to hire staff to work with the project. This is a prospective, longitudinal observational study aimed to recruit and estimate HIV incidence in a cohort of HIV-negative volunteers at risk of HIV infection and to prepare them for participationi n the PrEPVacc HIV vaccine trial. The following are job vacancies for the PrEPVacc study: -

1. MEDICAL OFFICER / ASSISTANT MEDICAL OFFICER 1 POST

(a) Required Qualifications
Holder of Doctor of Medicine from a recognized University/Institution, plus
successful completion of a one year internship and must be registered by the
Medical Council of Tanganyika. A minimum of 3 years of work experience is
required.
Applications from Holders of Assistant Medical Officer's Diploma and a public
health background (MPH) with a minimum of 3 years of work experience are also
accepted. Applicant must be registered by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
1. Consenting process that includes providing briefing sessions and obtaining
informed consent
2. Assist with screening, evaluation and management of study participants
3. Fills and checks source documents and CRFs
4. Participate in the community outreach activities
5. Prepare meeting minutes and reports for the study
6. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


2. NURSING OFFICER /ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER 2 POSTS

(a) Required Qualifications
Holder of Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized
Institution/University plus successful completion of a one-year internship.
Applicant must be registered by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council. A
minimum of 3 years of working experience in clinical trials is required.
Applications from Holders of Diploma in Nursing from a recognized
Institution/University with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in clinical

trials are also accepted. Applicant must be registered by the Tanzania Nursing and
Midwifery Council.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
1. Consenting process that includes briefing session and obtaining informed
consent.
2. Providing pre and post test counseling for HIV
3. Providing and advising on family planning
4. Able to perform phlebotomy
5. Participate in the community outreach
6. Administer study investigational products
7. Performing and interpreting HIV testing
8. Completing of source documentation and transcribing in CRFs
9. Query resolution
10. Vaccine administration
11. Participant tracing and follow up
12. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


3. DATA MANAGER II 1 POST

(a) Required Qualifications
Holder of Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or
Health Informatics from any recognized Institution/University with extensive
knowledge in relational databases RDBMS, SPSS, STATA, Excel etc. A
minimum of 3 years working experience in the relevant field is required.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
1. Create and enforce policies for effective data management.
2. Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with
attention to all technical aspects
3. Implement rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external
stakeholders etc.
4. Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and
company standards
5. Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
6. Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to
discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
7. Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses
8. Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications
9. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by one's reporting officer.

(v) Form IV and Form VI result slips are strictly not accepted. Presentation of forged
academic certificates and other information in the CV will lead to legal action.
(vi) Applicants shall indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
(vii) Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) – {Degree Level} or National
Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) – {Diploma Level} or
National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) – {Secondary Education}, should
verify certificates from foreign Countries.
(viii) Applicants must consider that their Colleges/Universities are recognized and registered
by Government Authorities.
(ix) Only shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date of the interview.
(x) Deadline of receiving Applications will be one week from the date it appeared on
