LAB TECHNICIAN – CONCRETE

Kazinikwetu Ltd on behalf of client is seeking to add an experienced Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for conducting routine laboratory test and analysis on conrete. The incumbent will interface with other technicians in prioritizing the workload and getting the analysis and tests performed in a timely manner

Responsibilities

  

Accurately record laboratory test data and assist with customer/plant reports

Perform and assist with concrete testing (i.e. slump, air, unit weight, yield, concrete samples, etc.)

Perform and assist with cement testing

Safely operate and maintain lab equipment

Maintain inventory of lab samples, received and sent, with appropriate records

Inspect quality of ready- mix and conduct tests of concrete

Conduct laboratory tests of concrete to estimate compressive strength

Oversee the preparation of ready- mix and advise on the use of additives

Prepare reports on test results and to provide recommendations

Qualifications:

Diploma in Lab related field is required.

At least three years of experience working in a cement plant or industrial lab preferred.

Experience working in the cement, lime or aggregate industry is preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).

Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word. Ability to learn other, lab specific, software applications.
