Head
of Investor Relations – VTFN010
Role
purpose:
Head
of investor relations outputs and internal business relationships for the
delivery of high quality content. Responsible for the implementation and
compliance to best practice corporate governance principles for integrated reporting
of strategic, cross-functional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to
the business and in accordance with the requirements of the Dar es Salaam Stock
Exchange. Leads relationships within the investment community.
Key
accountabilities:
Report
Management
Develop
plans for implementation of these best practices and any new reporting
requirements.
Prepare
disclosures under the requirements of the Dar es Salaam stock exchange rules.
Develop
monthly reporting requirements with key stakeholders. Develop and maintain
monthly, quarterly, half yearly and full year HFM system reports, financial
analysis reports
Prepare
(in both English and Kiswahili) quarterly results announcement packs, bi-annual
results presentations and all year end preparation materials for management
Prepare
financial reports and presentations for the Board
Publish
results presentations and announcements
Prepare
and publish new content (in both English and Kiswahili) to the Investor
Relations website.
Prepare
investor profile reports for management meetings
Analyze
all financial, operational and strategic reporting and information
Prepare
financial analysis dashboards
Prepare
non-financial indicators dashboards
Prepare
content (in both English and Kiswahili) for inclusion in the annual integrated
report, including but not limited to financial, strategic and operational
performance as well as the corporate governance statement.
Project
Management
Project
manage production of both interim and preliminary results as well as the annual
/ integrated report
Project
manage investor conference calls and presentations
Draft
annual IR calendar
Shareholder
/ Investor Management
Promptly
prepare responses to queries received from the investment community.
Compile
a local and international shareholder engagement list
Produce
quarterly reports on the ownership structure, holdings and trading activities.
Review
equity research notes and address material mis-statements
Maintain
a Stakeholder / Investor database
Maintain
working relationship with key analysts in order to maintain controlled
information flow from the investment community
Senior
Management Support
Prepare
announcement, conference call, Q&A, presentation scripts for the Managing
Director, Finance Director and Chairman
Prepare
presentations for management and the Board.
Perform
ad-hoc finance and/or governance-related projects as directed by the Finance
Director.
Host
the Managing Director, Finance Director or Chairman with key investors
Assist
senior management in setting integrated goals and objectives for the business
Prepare
weekly share price performance reports with details of transactions and changes
to the share register
Provide
feedback to senior management
Provide
feedback from the investment community to the Managing and Finance Directors
Brief
Management and Board on key sell side equity notes.
Core
competencies, knowledge and experience
Minimum
of 5 years’ experience in a financial role in a public company.
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills (presentations, report writing, etc.)
in English.
Knowledge
of accounting concepts, techniques, principles and disclosures within the
Company’s Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
Ability
to persuade, influence and build strong relationships.
Deep
understanding of the Dar es Salaam stock exchange rules and global equity
capital markets.
Good
financial modelling skills and business acumen, with the ability to drive
projects from start to finish.
A
proven track record of partnering with commercial and finance stakeholders to
produce and deliver well-synthesized analyses, narratives, and recommendations
to a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
Comfort
navigating complex and fluid organizational structures within a fast-moving and
global company. Build and maintain cross-functional relationships spanning
multiple teams and geographies.
The
ability to stay proactive and dynamic in a rapidly changing environment. A
mind-set that is both analysis and process-oriented
The
ability to plan, organize and manage the delivery of key deliverables
Technical/professional
qualifications:
Essential:
Degree
in Finance or Accounting.
Post-degree
qualification in Finance or Business will be preferable.
Advanced
Excel skills with a deep understanding of model architecture, formula
efficiency.
Fluency
in English.
Desired:
Familiarity
with HFM and/or telecommunications business models.
Experience
with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and databases.
Knowledge
of the accounting concepts, techniques, principles and disclosures used within
Vodacom’s Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
CPA,
CA, ACCA, CISA, CIA or similar qualifications, although not mandatory.
