Tanzania
Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA) is an Executive Agency under the Ministry of
Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children which is
responsible for the regulation of quality, safety and effectiveness of food,
medicines, cosmetics and medical devices for the purpose of protecting and
promoting public health. TFDA is established under Section 4(1) of the Tanzania
Food, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, Cap.219.
POSITION:
DRUG REGISTRATION OFFICERS- (2 POSTS)
REPORTS
TO: TFDA – HEAD QUARTER
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i)
To review and evaluate documentation of product applied for registration
ii)
To evaluate generic medicines, cosmetics, medical devices, in Vitro Diagnostics
and promotional materials applied for registration
iii)
To prepare and submit evaluation and progress reports to head of section
iv)
To update the relevant product registration database
v)
To attend and respond to customer inquiries related to product registration
vi)
To perform any other duties related to the above as may be assigned by
superiors.
QUALIFICATIONS
AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor
of Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering or
related field from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years
experience
REMUNERATION

POSITION:
DRUG INSPECTOR- (3 POSTS)
REPORTS
TO: EASTERN ZONE
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i)
To conduct inspections according to the established Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs)
ii)
To prepare and submit inspection reports according to SOPs
iii)
Process applications for registration of premises, licenses, import and export
permits of drugs, cosmetics and medical devices.
iv)
Supervise destruction of unfit drugs and cosmetic products
v)
To prepare status reports on license, permit, import and export of drugs,
cosmetics and medical devices
vi)
Develop and maintain good relations with customers
vii)
To perform any other duties relevant to the above that they may be assigned by
superiors.
QUALIFICATIONS
AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor
of Pharmacy, Veterinary medicines or equivalent qualifications in the related
field from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years experience.

To conduct analysis of product samples

Holder
of BSc, its equivalent in Pharmacy, Food Sciences, Food Technology,
Microbiology, Herbal Medicine, Botany, Chemistry Biotechnology or related field
from recognized institution.

TECHNICIAN- (1 POST)

DUTIES

i)
To allocate MIS resources to users
ii)
To monitor use of MIS resources

To update the relevant laboratory database
iv)
To train and give guidance to subordinates

superiors.
QUALIFICATIONS

Holder
of diploma or its equivalent in computer science or Information Technology or
systems analysts or equivalent
REMUNERATION

POSITION:
DRIVER -(1 POST)
REPORTS
TO: SOUTHERN (MTWARA)
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i)
To initiate requisition and account for fuel
ii)
To drive vehicles as assigned
iii)
To keep the vehicle safe
iv)
Keep the vehicle clean at all times
v)
To fill and maintain vehicles log book
vi)
To initiate maintenance of vehicles
vii)
Perform any other duties related to the above that they may be assigned by
superiors.
QUALIFICATIONS
AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Form
IV certificate with class C driving license and trade test grade II in auto
mechanics from a recognized institution plus at least 3 years of safe driving.
