The Kilimanjaro Dairy Cooperative Joint Enterprise is a new cooperative initiative that was registered in July 2017 by a number of Dairy Cooperatives in Hai District. The Joint Enterprise intends to bring together all Dairy Cooperatives in Kilimanjaro region to work on common interest of developing their dairy industry.

Project Summary

The Joint Enterprise initiative is being promoted under the auspices of the Income and Employment for Women and Youth (IEWY) project which is being implemented in the Dairy Sector in North-east Tanzania through a partnership between SNV Tanzania, Match Maker Associates Limited (MMA), Nronga Women Dairy Cooperative Society (NWDCS) and Capacity Building for Organisations (CABO) and funded by Comic Relief. The Government Local Authorities and the Cooperatives Registrar is also supporting the project.

JE main objective of this project is to develop the capacities of the Women-led dairy enterprises in Hai and Siha Districts and later in other districts in Kilimanjaro region, so that they increase their incomes and well-being of the local communities. The Project is supporting the start-up of the Kilimanjaro Dairy Cooperative Joint Enterprise Ltd, and among others will support acquisition of technical support staff during the interim period of at least 2 years before it becomes self-sustaining with its own staff.

Marketing & Sales Officer

Job Overview

We are looking for a Marketing and Sales Officer to oversee the JE marketing campaigns of our products and services both internally and externally. He/ She will be responsible to create market and sales link between JE member cooperatives with suppliers of various inputs and buyers of dairy products. He/She would scale up comprehensive marketing activities across Kilimanjaro region where the JE has mandate to operate. As a marketing officer, he/she will be responsible for building a conducive client relationships with JE.

Duties of the Marketing and Sales Officer:

Represent JE in all market access related issues for JE members (Ensuring sufficient and updated information is always available and demand and supply of key inputs and dairy products).

Conduct market research for JE products and services and prepare a JE operational marketing plan, and relevant business models to be discussed with client, JE Board and members and spreahead implementations of decisions made

Initiate promotional activities of the JE dairy products and inputs (through Periodic News letters, product bronchures etc and participate in relevant Dairy forums and relevant trade shows)

Manage client relationships in the agreed upon business models and provide feedback for improvements where necessary

Perform client risk assessment and due deligence

Meet periodically with clients and JE cooperatives to monitor implementation of the marketing plan.

Be part of project implementation core team comprising of JE Coordinator, Dairy specialist and other implementing partners

Prepare monthly report on time about marketing activities that will enable management to monitor implementation of the JE strategic business plan

Supporting dairy cooperatives in developing business plan that will align with their Enterprise objectives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Economics, Agri Business

Minimum of 3 years of working experience in sales and marketing, marketing research

Capacity and experience to influence Cooperatives to adopt collective marketing strategies

Proven track record in leading marketing campaigns that have resulted into increased sales and opening up new markets

Desired Candidate Profile

Client Service oriented with a passion to assist dairy producers to succeed

Previous experience in a similar marketing role.

Strong and confident communicator.

Skills and knowledge in identifying business strategic/potential areas

Function independently in a team atmosphere

Able to work in high demand/stress environment

Highly proficient in Microsoft office, with an emphasis on Excel related tasks

Contract Type**:** Renewable Contract

Contract Duration: One year Renewable
