Comprehensive
Community-Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered organization
first established in 1994. It is the largest indigenous provider of ophthalmic
and rehabilitation services in the country. CCBRT aims to be the leading
provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves as
healthcare social enterprise and through development programmes the community
and the most vulnerable. Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever
possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare
(MNHC) activities including obstetric fistula repairs and is currently
constructing a Maternity and Newborn Hospital.
In
line with the further expansion of our laboratory services, we have two new
positions for additional
dedicated
Laboratory Technicians and/or Laboratory Technologists.
The
role
Running
all laboratory tests as per Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP) and ISO
15189:2012; Preparing necessary equipment and materials for the laboratory use;
Preparing reagents for routine examination of laboratory tests; Timely sample
collection and storage; Ensuring that all samples for investigations are kept
in safe custody; Maintaining records of all investigations carried out;
Reviewing all laboratory results before release; Ensuring all lab results are
entered into the hospital information system.
Ensuring
the quality management system as required in Laboratory is maintained;
Implementing and maintaining a safe work environment for laboratory staff;
Maintaining a list of laboratory equipment in the department; Monitoring safety
events and reporting to management; Ensuring safe and appropriate disposal of
laboratory waste on a daily basis; Complying with established quality
management system and safety procedures.
Like
other CCBRT staff, the laboratory staff actively participates in PDCA problem
solving and daily huddles, and is expected to ensure timely preparation and
submission of reports and participates actively in cross-functional teams to
provide the best services to our customers.
The
candidate
Diploma
in Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution and at least 3 years of
working experience or
Degree
in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution with at least
one year of experience
Full
registration with the Health Laboratory Practitioners Council
Must
have technical knowledge and experience of performing international recognized
Transfusion Transmitted Infection (TTI) Laboratory testing
Excellent
communication skills (English and Kiswahili)
Must
be an innovative, self-motivated and persistent problem solver with careful
attention to detail

POSITION:
AMO Ophthalmology
The
role
Screens,
diagnoses and treats patients with eye diseases and injuries of the eyes;
examines patients for symptoms indicative of organic or congenital ocular
disorders and determines the nature and extend of injury or disorder; refers
patients for admission or further consultation; ensures that all administrative
work related to patients are completed in time and according the required
process; Assists in the organization and smooth running of outreach activities.
Participates
in call duties and conduct wards rounds at weekends as required; Provides
further assistance to Ophthalmologists whenever required. Ensures all the
working tools under custody are handled properly and works according to the set
standards and guidelines.
Like
other CCBRT staff, the AMO actively participates in PDCA problem solving and
daily huddles, and is expected to ensure timely preparation and submission of
reports and participates actively in cross functional teams to provide the best
services to our customers.
The
candidate
AMO
qualification in advanced clinical medicine
2-year
diploma in Ophthalmology
Minimum
of 4 years working experience with a reputable organization
Registered
with the Medical Council of Tanzania
Critical
thinking and methodological approach to problem-solving and decision making
Effective
counseling and teaching skills
Ability
to work effectively with the team
Computer
literate (Basic computer knowledge)
Self-motivated,
flexible and well organized to manage at times, upredictable and variable

Senior Ophthalmologist – VR Surgeon Ref: 2018–13

new Private Service Unit.
In
order to strengthen our Ophthalmology services and upcoming expansion of our
services, we are looking for experienced Vitro Retina Surgeon.
The
role
Provide
quality clinical services as well as all required administrative
responsibilities which include the management both of acute, non-elective and
elective patients (both inpatient management and outpatient follow up),
provision of ophthalmic consultations, perform ophthalmic surgeries especially
in the area of retina, participate in ward rounds and supervise and coach
junior doctors/ AMO’s.
Ensure
cost efficient delivery of quality ophthalmic services at CCBRT (OPD
consultation, treatment and surgeries) and ensuring guidelines/standard
operating procedure/policies pertaining to patient care are followed.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of health professionals to provide
excellent patient care.
Pro-
active contribution to the further stategizing and marketing of CCBRT as well
known and recognized ophthalmic care facility and the re-establishment of the
eye training programme. Ensure quality of medical data (such as log books,
patients files etc) and actively participate in CCBRT patient data management
system and contribute to other CCBRT reporting requirements. Contribute to the
establishment of a learning & research culture at CCBRT.
The
candidate
Medical
Consultant in Ophthalmology with at least 12 years of experience as
ophthalmologist including sub-specialization in VR surgery
Competent
to perform all medical procedures relevant for the area of practice
Proven
track record in clinical surgical vitro retina
Registered
with the relevant professional council
Critical
thinking and methodological approach toproblem-solvingg and decision making
Effective
counseling and teaching skills
Excellent
communication skills; Proficient in English, Swahili is an added advantage
Strong
knowledge of administrative and logistic procedures, sound planning and
monitoring
